The University of Tennessee Research Foundation (UTRF) Retains Knoxville, Tennessee Based Marketing Firm CMOco to Drive Technology Marketing and Brand Development Initiatives

CMOco to build awareness surrounding UTRF’s intellectual property development and capabilities

November 19, 2013 – Knoxville, Tennessee based marketing firm CMOco announced today that it has been retained by The University of Tennessee Research Foundation (UTRF) to provide oversight and expertise to execute a variety of marketing and brand development initiatives to raise UTRF’s profile throughout the state and nation for its growing development of intellectual property portfolio generated by The University of Tennessee’s professors, faculty, and students.

CMOco is charged with developing strategic marketing activities that will include stakeholder engagement initiatives, digital and social media, trade media, business-to-business partnerships, and publicity. In addition, CMOco will develop marketing activities that generate demand for UTRF’s intellectual property, targeting organizations that have the ability to develop UTRF’s intellectual property for market. “We are thrilled to have been chosen to work with UTRF,” said CMOco President and CEO Lori Asbury. “The Foundation is an evolving organization that cultivates and develops highly innovative intellectual property generated by The University of Tennessee’s constituents. The work UTRF is doing needs to be publicized on a larger scale due to its ability to have significant positive economic impact on the state of Tennessee and beyond,” said Asbury.

CMOco’s Stephen Quiesser will be the Chief Marketing Officer overseeing the account, working directly with UTRF President and CEO David Washburn and Marketing Manager Kimberly Hood. “We look forward to working with CMOco and tapping in to their strategic marketing expertise to generate awareness and build exposure for the work we are doing, “ said David Washburn.
